Interested in joining Bathgate CC?
In recent years, several new members have joined Bathgate Camera Club. Don't hesitate. If you don't know where to start - just come along.
Some people have been taking photographs for several years and you might want to find out more about what makes a good picture.
During the judging of club competitions, you can learn a lot about how to improve your photographs.
Several members of our club take part in national and international photography competitions - with success !! - such as the Scottish Photographic Salon, hosted by the Scottish Photographic Federation.
Some new members have joined the club and take only digital photographs. Others want to learn the traditional ways of photography, or about studio lights, filters, apertures and so on.
If you want to improve your skills or start from scratch - just pop in.
One thing to bear in mind - our camera club is not about cameras! It's about photography. We cannot provide tuition on how to use your camera - that's what the instruction manual is for. However, if you don't know what certain things mean - for example - spot metering, over-exposing or under-exposing an image, white balance, colour space etc. there will always be someone there - happy to help. Just ask.
Several club members go on photography trips regularly. We had trips to the Isle of May, Lindisfarne, Bass Rock, Glen Affric, Aviemore etc. Members share a car and go out for a day or even for several days. We are a very social club and we are very happy to help new members who strive to become a better photographer. You just need to ask ;-)
